CASILLERO DEL DIABLO RESERVA, CHILE
This is a special wine, and not a variety, but a style. Casillero del Diablo is made by vinifying red Shiraz grapes as if to make a white wine. The result is a refreshing wine with attractive strawberry, raspberry and cherry aromas with flavors of blackberries and plum. A refreshing wine that is closer to a red than a white.
SOIL – Riverbench and benchland associated soils.
AGEING – Fermented in stainless steel tanks.
COLOUR – Intense strawberry colour with bright purple hints.
AROMA – Deep aromas of red berries, blackberries and wild raspberries and marked by spicy flavours.
PALATE – The pleasant acidity and intense body is maintained on the palate for a good time, accompanied by remarkable blackberry and fresh plums.
FOOD PAIRING – It is very easy to drink on its own or joined with light dishes specially grilled tuna.White cheeses with good acidity such as mozzarella match this wine very well.
