CASILLERO DEL DIABLO RESERVA CABERNET SAUVIGNON, CHILE

It is Casillero del Diablo’s most famous variety, and Decanter magazine called its 2005 vintage the best of the planet. It features intense aromas of cherries and plum with a touch of vanilla and toast. It has the most body of all red varieties and is elegant and ideal with red meats such as beef with black pepper sauce.

APPELLATION – Central Valley.

SOIL – Riverbench, benchland and hillside associated soils.

AGEING – Aged in American oak barrels.

COLOUR – Red and intense red ruby.

NOSE – Gorgeous and lovely bright cherry, blackcurrant and dark plum with toasted
oak.

PALATE – Medium bodied with silky tannins and long, ripe fruit and berry aftertaste,
with impressive balance of fruit and polished tannins.

FOOD PAIRING – Red meats, spicy dishes and ripe cheeses such as Gruyere or blue cheese.
